Two fire engines were called after a van caught fire on a busy dual carriageway this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the A1 southbound between Stirling Corner and Apex Corner to reports of a van in flames just before 2pm.
The fire was under control by 2.30pm.
The van was destroyed by the flames.
A1 Barnet Way (Barnet Bypass)- the s/bound/inbound carriageway remains partially blocked after a vehicle fire. Traffic remains slow on the approach to the restriction.

Crews from Mill Hill and Stanmore attended the scene along with police and ambulances.
Queues remain on the A1 southbound, which at one stage stretched back to before the Stirling Corner roundabout in Borehamwood.
