Am I the only one who despairs at the way Borehamwood has changed over recent years due to continuing overdevelopment of the borough?
I find myself sitting in an ever-growing line of 20 to 30 cars queuing at 7.30am, trying to cross the bridge over the A1 into Rowley lane to travel to my place of work in Barnet.
On the way home, again you find that the high street is one continuous line of cars crawling from one end to the other.
This situation will inevitably get a lot worse when the dwellings at the bottom of Manor Way and the Elstree Way Corridor are completed. I am aware that the Government is putting pressure on councils throughout England to build more and more houses, but will the local planning department ever wake up and see what congestion and its diminishing quality of life has brought to the citizens of our town, remembering those that have lived here for many years use to fondly refer to Borehamwood as the village.
