With reference to Councillor Harvey Cohen’s letter (‘Plans would improve what we already have’, Your Views, January 30) regarding the new Ark Theatre, I feel he has no strong case for having it built next to the school, and he admits that the theatre is a hub for local groups, offering entertainment for the wider community to enjoy.
Surely it make sense to build the new theatre in a more prominent position, on the corridor to the town centre like Elstree way for example, where there is easy access to public transport, making it more attainable for the elderly and the like. It would also break up the monotony of a road lined with mainly office blocks and apartments.
