School children brought their fathers to school last week as part of a primary school’s annual Bring Your Dad to School day.
Pupils of Parkside School, in Aycliffe Road, are invited to bring fathers, brothers, granddads or family friends to school as part of the event.
The school has run the activities day for the past seven years, and headteacher Julie Muncey believes it is a big success among pupils.
She said: “Many dads, brothers, uncles, grandads, great grandads and friends attended the event which was a huge success with all the children.
“They worked alongside pupils on a variety of different activities including making and decorating biscuits, reading, playing tennis, construction and painting. It is always such a positive day for parents and children.”
Activities were provided for the children and their guests to take part in, while the guests were given the opportunity to meet some of the teachers from the school.
One parent said: “It was a pleasure to work with my child on this project. I wish for many more in the future. This gave me the opportunity to see what the teachers and teaching assistants do in nurturing my son's academic progression and they are highly appreciated in their efforts.”
