Children got into the festive spirit when they designed seasonal Christmas cards for a competition.
Hertsmere Borough Council received over 400 colourful drawings from pupils in schools across Borehamwood as part of their annual Christmas card competition.
Mayor Pat Strack, who judged the competition, said she really enjoyed looking through drawings of Santa Claus, Christmas trees and reindeers.
She added: “I am really pleased so many schools took the opportunity to take part in the competition.
“I was absolutely bowled over by the quality and range of designs. We had some really imaginative entries.
“It was really difficult choosing a winner but I would like to thank everyone who has taken part.”
The winning card will be used as the council’s official Christmas card, and will be sent electronically to companies across the borough.
The first, second and third prize winners are being kept secret until an awards ceremony at the Civic Offices, Elstree Way, Borehamwood, on November 29.
Winners will receive a certificate and gift voucher.
