From the streets of San Francisco to the hills of Tuscany; the skyscrapers of Manhattan to the riverbanks of Varanasi, India, artist Clive McCartney has travelled the world to produce paintings that feature strong contrasts between light and dark.
His latest exhibition, Travelling Light - now on at the Catto Gallery in Hampstead, also features subjects closer to home, including Kensington Gardens, Piccadilly Circus, Berkeley Square and Notting Hill.
Travelling Light runs until Tuesday, May 31 (open Monday to Saturday: 10am to 6pm, Sunday: 12.30pm to 6pm) at the Catto Gallery, 100 Heath Street, Hampstead, NW3 1DP. Tel, 020 7435 6660, web: www.catto.co.uk
