Armed robbers held up the Tesco store in Shenley again on Saturday only five days after another pair of gun-toting thieves tried to rob the store.
At 10.40pm on Saturday, April 17, two young black men came into the store demanding cash. One of them, brandishing what looked like a gun, pistol-whipped the manager.
The manager opened the store's safe, but while the thieves were searching it they were charged down by the in-store security guard, who took the gun. The thieves fled, taking only two money-bags of small change.
They escaped in a black or dark blue Vauxhall saloon car, probably a Cavalier or a Carlton. On inspection the gun turned out to be a replica.
On Monday, April 12, at the same store, two white men, also carrying a gun, fled when a panic alarm was set off.
