A CELEBRITY German Shepherd, who starred in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is looking for a new home after his Elstree owner put him up for adoption.
Berry, 10, who starred as Padfoot, the animal incarnation of Sirius Black, is in longterm foster care with charity German Shepherd Dog Rescue.
Owner Paul Thompson, 52, from Elstree, said he was spending too much time away from home for work and could not give Berry the care he needed.
German Shepherd cross Porridge, 13, who has lived with Berry since he was a pup is also up for adoption.
Porridge is also a celebrity pooch, with roles in The Bill and the TV adaptation of Zadie Smith's novel White Teeth.
It is a condition of adoption that the dogs remain together.
Area co-ordinator Lizzy Brown said the charity had received many inquiries about the dogs, but they were in no rush to adopt them out.
"They will be in longterm foster care until the perfect home comes along," she said.
"It needs to be quiet, somewhere that can give them the time and care they need in their elderly years."
A thorough vetting process is carried out before any of the dogs are adopted.
"We've got lots of dogs, all shapes and sizes of German Shepherd and these are just two of many," Ms Brown added.
Anyone interested in adopting a German Shepherd through the charity, should visit www.germanshepherdrescue.co.uk and complete an application form.
