RESIDENTS living next to Borehamwood Shopping Park are frustrated by a ‘wall of trees’ they say is not being maintained.
Five homes in Chatsworth Close are shadowed by a small wooded area belonging to the retail park in Theobald Street.
Homeowner Gary Spanbok, who has lived in the road for two and half years, said he and his neighbours have approached the retail park management, but have had no response.
Mr Spanbok said: “They (Borehamwood Shopping Park) are our neighbours and they have a duty to do something about it.
“Legally I’m allowed to cut anything that overhangs my land, but I am not a tree surgeon and I don’t want to go up 30 feet in the air.
“We’ve got a 30 foot wall of foliage, which might as well be a brick wall. It effects the grass and it’s really difficult to grow anything.
“I don’t want them removed, I just want them trimmed back.”
Mr Spanbok and his neighbours Bob & Marion Brennan have tried contacting the managers of Borehamwood Shopping Park, but say they have had no response and feel they are being ignored.
The Borehamwood & Elstree Times asked for a comment from the retail park, but as yet has not received any response.
