Elderly residents celebrated growing old with a party funded by the council.
The Elstree and Borehamwood Dementia Club UK were given a £300 grant by Hertsmere Borough Council in honour of Older People’s Day yesterday.
The Ionian Classical Clarinet Quartet came in to serenade members with some Jazz at Fairway Hall in Borehamwood.
The event was attended by Town Mayor Cllr Eric Silver, Dementia Club UK chairman Lisa Rutter, as well as members from the Barnet branch of the charity.
There were sandwiches, cakes and refreshments on offer and tables were decorated with red tablecloths and flowers and a member celebrated their birthday with a cake.
