Do you want to become a councillor? With a by-election coming up, this may be your chance.
Following the resignation of Thomas Ash, councillor for Borehamwood Kenilworth for more than two years, the public are invited to stand for Hertsmere Borough Council to represent the people of the ward.
Jo Bateman, principal electoral services officer at Hertsmere Borough Council, said: "Being an effective councillor requires commitment and hard work, but can be exceptionally rewarding.
"Your influence will make a difference to the quality of people's lives and to the Hertsmere area.
"You will need to balance the best interests of your ward residents, the borough or county residents, your political party - if you have one - and the council."
The deadlines for nominations is 4pm on September 8, with the by-election set to take place on October 5.
Constituents with questions are asked to contact Cllr Victor Eni in the meantime, whose contact details can be found on the Hertsmere Borough Council website.
