Women who want to run a marathon but do not know how to start can get fit at free sessions.
People are invited to the We Move, She Moves sessions, which are run by Hertsmere Borough Council.
They are aimed at total beginners and people will be given the key skills and techniques to be able to run 5k and further.
They will take place in Borheamwood, Bushey and Potters Bar and all sessions will be held by a qualified instructor.
Helen Hopkins, community sports officer, said: “These sessions are perfect if you're a woman aged 16 or over and have always wanted to try running, but have felt you weren't fit enough, fast enough or strong enough. The course introduces you safely and gently to running in a supportive group environment, where no-one gets left behind.
"For the first session, you'll only need to be able to jog for a total of 60 seconds at one time, making it perfect for those who have never taken part in sport before. We'll aim to eventually condition you to run 5k.”
