A worker was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after falling 30ft from a ceiling at Elstree Studios.
The man, believed to be in his mid-thirties, was found seriously injured on the floor at the studios in Shenley Road, Borehamwood.
Emergency services were unable to comment on the man's current condition, but he was understood to have been severely injured in the fall from a 30ft ceiling while working on a BBC programme on November 18.
Two rapid response vehicles, one ambulance crew and a doctor in a car were rushed to the scene, and the man was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, London, for specialist treatment for several severe injuries.
A BBC spokesman said: “Our thoughts are with the individual, and his family, friends and colleagues working on the site. The circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation.”
Hertfordshire Constabulary said they were called to the site at around 10.40pm on November 18 following reports of a man being injured at the famous film and television studios.
A spokesman said: “The Health and Safety Executive were notified. Police are not currently treating the incident as suspicious.”
The BBC is now being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive to determine how the fall happened, but have said it is too early to determine the cause of the incident.
Its spokesman confirmed that the man fell several metres from the lighting grid to the floor and has suffered life-threatening injuries.
Elstree Studios declined to comment on the incident.
