A woman was assaulted while she waited for her boyfriend in a park.
A 23-year-old woman was sitting in Aycliffe Park at around 10pm on Saturday, July 26 when she was approached from behind by a stranger.
The offender, described only as a black male, pulled her hair and she fell to the floor screaming before the man ran off.
The victim was not injured in the attack and police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
PC Glen Hawkins is investigating and said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the park around this time and saw what happened, saw anyone acting suspiciously or running from the area to contact me with information.
“It is believed there was another man walking his dog through the park at the time. If you believe this was you I would ask that you please contact me.”
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on the non-emergency number 101.
