Travellers who set up an illegal camp in Borehamwood were evicted by police and council workers after just 24 hours.
Hertsmere Council's environmental health officers served 15 removal notices on the camp in Wansford Park on Friday evening (May 23).
Police then accompanied council workers to the site on Saturday evening to move the camp on from the council-owned land.
Councillor Jean Heywood, portfolio holder for environment and transport, said: "We have authorised and managed pitches for Gypsies and travellers in Hertsmere.
"We will always look to take firm and swift action, along with the police and other partners, to tackle groups who set up unauthorised encampments on council land."
