Women and girls will be able to brush up their badminton or finetune their football thanks to a new fitness project.
Hertsmere Borough Council has received £162,750 of National Lottery funding from Sport England’s Community Sport Activation Fund to help women and girls get fit.
The programme for women and girls aged between 14 and 25 will include a number of different sports and activities at leisure centres, parks, schools and community venues, as well as free gym and swimming sessions.
The project is being set up in partnership with Hertsmere Leisure after consultation suggested women of this age group needed more physical activity.
The project will be launched in the New Year.
