Janet and Allan Ahlberg worked together for 20 years writing and illustrating books such as the Happy Families series, The Jolly Postman and Funny Bones.

Young fans of their book Burglar Bill can now enjoy a stage version of the story, brought to life with a blend of live action, puppets, music and comedy.

The show, aimed at children aged three to eight, tells the story of a burglar who, every night, has stolen fish and chips and a stolen cup of stolen tea for supper.

Then, he swings a big stolen sack over his shoulder and goes to work, stealing things. One night he steals a big brown box with little holes in it. He takes it home, but what he finds inside throws his nightly routine into chaos and changes his criminal life forever.

Tickets cost £6 (family ticket £20) and are available from the box office on 01923 859291.

Burglar Bill, The Radlett Centre, Aldenham Avenue, Radlett, Wednesday, 2pm
